Chloe Kritharas Devienne

Chloe Kritharas Devienne is a Greek-French photographer born in Paris in 1988. She studied at the University of Plastic Arts in Paris before completing her photography training at the Leica Academy in Athens.

Her work focuses primarily on people, exploring their stories and cultures through documentary photography and portraiture, with a important attention to composition and light.

Chloe’s work is built on strong connections with the people she captures. She takes the time to understand individuals, communities, and their cultures, always photographing with deep respect and ensuring she never intrudes. As a result, those she photographs open up to the camera with trust and comfort reflecting the relationships she has built.

Early in her career, Chloe worked with French and Greek media as a photo-reporter, documenting a variety of social issues. She later chose to step away from this path for health and ethical reasons.

For the past six years, Chloe has traveled regularly to Mexico, her country of heart ,for various photographic projects.

Since 2020, she has focused on "Somos Afromexicanas," a long-term series that celebrates the strength, beauty, and dignity of Afromexican women in the Costa Chica.
